2008 Mighty North Fork

Sunday was my triathlon I did it in 1:24:54 about four minutes faster than last year, but my swim was slower than I thought. I found myself in an underwater moshpit cause I didn't get myself to the front of the pack in time for the start. So my time suffered. About 3 minutes which is hugely disappointing. My bike was great I was passing people left and right but my run was sad. A minute slower than last year. I'm guessing the two weeks of solid wine benders had something to do with that. My next race is on Aug 24. I'll be ready for that one.

Hi! I am signed up for my the 2009 Mighty North Fork Triathlon. It will be my first (and probably only) tri and I am SUPER anxious. In my anxiety, I googled "Mighty North Fork" and I came across your blog. I can't seem to find information on whether or not I am going to need a wetsuit. And if I don't wear one, will I stick out? Last year, I watched the RJA Triathlon in June in Montauk and there were only 2 people without wetsuits and they DID stick out. And even if they didn't the announcer pointed them out! I am a 40 year old Mom that started running (or what I call running) about 18 months ago. I've completed 3 half marathons so far. And I am going to run the LI half marathon too!
(This is also my first time posting on a blog so I am not sure I am doing it right!)
